In the Middle East today, a number of creative individuals have been taking it upon themselves to find a place in the reestablishment of the region as a beacon for art and modernity. Utilising artistic techniques to implement intriguing and eye pleasing projects that blur the lines between art and design. In the world of architecture, structures can serve mankind while retaining an artistic feel. Architectural designers around the world have been pushing boundaries, deconstructing norms and putting up beguiling new structures. In Lebanon a list of local design houses have proven to be able to match the global benchmark, sometimes surpassing it. One strong pillar in the Lebanese and regional scene would be Karim Nader, and the team that works with him on delivering his visionLocated in Saifi, in the heart of the Beiruti art scene, Karim Nader's studio is constantly in collaborations with fellow architects to produce work of fine quality. The studio is known for its "from landscape to doorknob" architectural approach that focuses heavily on details. Aside from his client business, Nader is working on the renovation and propagation of Lebanon's previous gloryful architecture. Much like Cairo, Damascus and Baghdad; the cities of Lebanon have been suffering greatly from years of armed struggle and governmental negligence. Even when citizens try to take matters into their own hands, they sometimes are faced by bureaucratic obstacles. In Lebanon, NGOs and civic offices managed to work together however and are now working tirelessly to renovate the once glorious buildings that have been brought to rubble and detritus.
